Sweet 16 tips off TONIGHT
No. 11 Texas vs. No. 2 Purdue – West Region, 7:10 p.m. ET: The Longhorns are the last double-digit seed standing after upsetting BYU in the first round and Gonzaga in the second round. They face Purdue, who picked apart Miami in the second round. Texas will have their hands full with the Boilermakers’ size.
No. 9 Iowa vs. No. 4 Nebraska – South Region, 7:30 p.m. ET: An all-Big Ten showdown. Nebraska enters as one of the hottest teams in the country after a thriller against Vanderbilt, while Iowa is riding the momentum of a massive upset over No. 1 Florida. These two teams faced off two and a half weeks ago, and the Huskers got the 84-75 win in overtime.
No. 4 Arkansas vs. No. 1 Arizona – West Region, 9:45 p.m. ET: The Wildcats return to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in five years under Tommy Lloyd, but face one of the most unique tests of their rugged season – Darius Acuff and Arkansas. The freshman star is averaging 30 points and 6.5 rebounds in two tournament games. This game will be decided if Arkansas has enough up front against the Wildcats’ loaded frontcourt.
No. 3 Illinois vs. No. 2 Houston – South Region, 10:05 p.m. ET: Being played at the Toyota Center, this game will be a home game for Houston, who looks like a serious title contender after beating Texas A&M by 31 points.
