Kansas hands No. 1 Arizona their first loss of the season - without Darryn Peterson
The Kansas Jayhawks have played 24 games this season. Darryn Peterson has appeared in only 13 of them, despite being a projected NBA lottery pick. At this point, his availability raises legitimate questions about his draft stock, though that decision ultimately rests with NBA front offices.
Aside from that, this was exactly the win Kansas needed to build momentum heading into Saturday’s road game against No. 5 Iowa State. Will Peterson play? It feels like a 50/50 chance — maybe even less.
A shoutout to Flory Bidunga and Melvin Council Jr., who DID decide to play and combined for 46 of the Jayhawks’ 82 points.

Charles Bediako ruled ineligible
Former NBA G League player Charles Bediako appeared in five games during his second stint with Alabama. On Monday, he was ruled ineligible by an Alabama court.
Alabama coach Nate Oats addressed the ruling on his “Hey Coach” radio show after Bediako’s court injunction was denied, saying he believed the case was a no-brainer in Bediako’s favor.
Oats said he’s “super disappointed” in everything: the ruling, the NCAA, the courts, the entire system, and especially for Charles Bediako personally.
They won’t be banned from the NCAA Tournament or anything crazy like that, but their seeding could potentially be effected.
Another great point made here. Other SEC schools have the right to be furious.
But hey, on the bright side, Charles will have plenty of time for his schoolwork now!

Duke-North Carolina postgame madness - Is Jon Scheyer a LIAR?
On Saturday, North Carolina upset No. 4 Duke 71-68. Chaos followed.
Trimble’s corner 3 initially appeared to beat the buzzer, prompting thousands of UNC fans to rush the court. Officials reviewed the play and put 0.4 seconds back on the clock, forcing fans to clear so Duke could inbound for a final desperation heave, which failed. When the clock hit zero, fans stormed the court again.
Duke coach Jon Scheyer said some staff members “got punched in the face” and one was trampled. He said he saw a staffer with a bloody lip, “looking like he’d been in a complete brawl,” and added his family had to push people away for safety.
But on Monday, Scheyer essentially admitted that no Duke assistant coach was punched by a UNC fan. Here’s the full quote:
"Yeah so, he's fine... He's fine. But after the game, what happened was I came back in the locker room and I see he's got a bloody lip and he's disheveled and he didn't know what happened, he got trampled on the floor.
That was my main concern after the game and that's why I said what I said.
It was not a good situation. But he's doing better, he's fine. Ready to move on. I don't have anything more to say other than that was a very unsafe situation for him, our staff, our families, our players.
I'm a big boy, can take losing. Great college game, Carolina played great. But yeah, he's doing better."
