BIG names decide on NBA draft

Henri Veesaar, UNC

Veesaar will remain in the NBA Draft. The 7-foot junior averaged 17.0 PPG, 8.7 RPG, and 1.2 BPG. Matt Norlander reported multiple schools tried to lure Henri Veesaar into the portal in the past few weeks by offering him at least $6 million.

Aday Mara & Morez Johnson Jr., Michigan

Center Aday Mara has declared for the 2026 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility, and the 7-foot-2 prospect is widely projected as a potential lottery pick, including a No. 14 overall projection in recent mock drafts. He averaged 12.1 PPG and 6.8 rebounds this season. In a 91–73 Final Four win over Arizona, Mara posted a career-high 26 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks.

Michigan forward Morez Johnson Jr. has declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility; the 6-foot-9 prospect is projected at No. 24 overall by Kevin O’Connor and could return to Ann Arbor if he isn’t selected in the top 20.

Motiejus Krivas & Koa Peat, Arizona

Motiejus Krivas staying put, while Koa Peat is off to the NBA Draft. Peat will likely be a top 10-20 pick.

Dame Sarr, Duke

Freshman Dame Sarr will return to Duke next year for his sophomore season. He averaged 6.4 points per game and 3.8 rebounds. His best game was against NC State where he went off for 16 points and 9 rebounds in a blowout win.

Nate Ament, Tennessee

6’10 Freshman Nate Ament has declared for the NBA Draft. He averaged 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season. He will likely be a top 10-20 pick.

About a week ago on the show, we talked about the Vols very successful offseason so far. Despite losing Ament to the draft, they are looking DANGEROUS heading into next year.

College Athletics

Arkansas cutting men's and women's tennis

Here’s the quote from Arkansas’s AD:

"Ultimately, we concluded that we are unable to provide the level of support necessary for our tennis programs to consistently compete in the SEC and nationally at the standard our student-athletes, coaches, alumni and supporters deserve," Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek said in a statement Friday.

This may mark the start of a trend in which Power 4 athletic departments shift away from the “broad-based” model of 20+ sports toward a leaner, more streamlined approach focused on elite programs. Arkansas is among the first to say openly what many athletic directors have been quietly acknowledging for months now: you can’t allocate $20 million to football and still sustain sports like tennis without a significant new influx of funding.

  • Speaking of the Wildcats, they added Senegalese forward Ousmane N’Diaye, who still needs NCAA clearance; however, the first step in that process is a commitment to a program.

  • Louisville is STILL GOING strong (and that might even be an understatement) in the transfer portal by the way. Most recently, they picked up 7-foot-5 Gabe Dynes. Yes that says 7’5 and yes there’s a chance he plays alongside the Big 12 DPOY Flory Bidunga who also transferred to Louisville this offseason.

  • That’s not all, the Cardinals also snagged De’Shayne Montgomery from Dayton over the weekend too. In the words of Torres, Pat Kelsey. Portal Demon.

  • Dylan Raiola made his Oregon debut. Raiola completed 7-of-13 passes for 146 yards, including a 76-yard completion to Evan Stewart. Here’s a clip of that play.

  • Ohio State (11) , Texas A&M, Alabama (10) have most players selected in NFL Draft - full list HERE
