We have our 2026 NCAA Tournament bracket
Well folks, we made it! Selection Sunday has passed - and we have ourselves an official NCAA Tournament bracket.
Admittedly, the committee didn’t throw very many curveballs at us on Selection Sunday. Duke, Michigan, Arizona and Florida got the four No. 1 seeds and on the bubble, Miami (OH) got in, while 16-loss Auburn was left out.
Where it got interesting was once the brackets were revealed - where there were certainly some top heavy regions.
The East stands out specifically as a bracket of death, chock full of Hall of Fame coaches and dangerous teams. Once you get past Duke, the No. 2 seed is UConn, a 29-team that would be playing a regional not far from home in Washington DC. The No. 3, 4 and 5 seeds are all coached by Hall of Famers, as Tom Izzo and Michigan State got the No. 3 seed, Bill Self and Kansas come in at No. 4 with St. John’s and Rick Pitino at No. 5. Even No. 6 seed Louisville was a preseason Top 10 team and 7th seed UCLA is dangerous.
The other thing that stood out was a loaded West bracket. Yes, Arizona gets a No. 1 seed path through San Diego and San Jose. However, they will likely get a Sweet 16 matchup with one of the hotter teams in college hoops, either No. 4 seed Arkansas or No. 5 Wisconsin. Arkansas just won the SEC Tournament, and Wisconsin has road wins over Michigan, Purdue and Illinois among others.
